Nature Aquarium at
KC Thapar Group Head Office
In the month of December 2019, we executed one of our most prestigious Nature Aquarium Projects till date – a 6 footer for the Chairman’s office of KC Thapar Group of companies at 163, Shyama Prasad Mukherjee Rd Kolkata.
KCT Website: (https://www.kctgroup.com/)
Thapar Group, known for their commitment towards environment, wanted to have maximum natural green cover in their office and had already installed vertical gardens and had made provisions for putting in indoor plants in all floors.
So when they approached us for an aquarium for their Chariman’s visitor’s lounge, we suggested installing a 6ft Nature Aquarium. The aquarium was conceptualized as a floor divider, and was designed to display a complete natural ecosystem using live aquatic plants.
KCT Group Environment Awareness:
The need to was to allow visitors to see the aquarium from all sides, so we proposed a triangular layout with maximum visibility from three sides. We also proposed to build the system using technologies from the Nature Aquarium pioneers and our partners, M/s. Aqua Design Amano, Japan.

Designs of the aquarium setup layout was done giving careful consideration to water conditions, temperature variations, KCT's ecology reprentation preferences, feasible hard-scapes, substrates plants and fishes and most importantly, the SUSTAINABILITY.
Meticulous planning was done as the installation of the aquarium was to be one of the last item of work for the interior design work planned for the floor.
We started work on 10th of December 2019. The first big hurdle was to lift the extremely heavy aquarium using the staircase as the lift was too small for the aquarium. That job was done thanks to the brave effort put in by a team of 6 people to lift the aquarium manually to the 8th floor.
Here are some glimpses of the work we did:
Team installing the cabinet and doing pre-installation work.
After filling water and starting the chiller and filtration system. The cabinet design was proposed by us with louvers all around to facilitate heat exchange.
Mock-up of hardscape with Epiphytic plants attached
Team after completion of installation on 15th of December 2019.
A fantastic teamwork and a successful project with full support of KCT Group’s Projects and Operations Team.
A major milestone for us.
